Deputies from the Gordon County Sheriff's Office have taken into custody three men after a traffic stop revealed a significant amount of drugs and illegal weapons. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the routine patrol led to the discovery of two fugitives, Brandon Lee Blackburn, 27, and Ryan Michael Blackburn, 33, from Woodland Drive, who were wanted on outstanding felony warrants. The brothers were apprehended without incident on July 29 near State Route 53 and Outlet Center Drive.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as 42-year-old Mario Santana, a resident of the Rodeway Inn in Calhoun, was also arrested during the traffic stop. Found in the vehicle, deputies uncovered a large cache of methamphetamine. Following up, they raided Santana's motel room, mentioned by Coosa Valley News, where they found additional meth and a firearm that Santana illegally possessed. The deputies parked near the intersection where the suspicious vehicle was pulled over.
Currently held in the Gordon County Jail, the trio faces serious charges. Both Blackburn brothers are charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, echoing the charges against Santana. In addition to the drug charges, Santana is facing allegations of firearms violations.
Investigations are ongoing, with the expectation of possibly uncovering further illicit activity associated with the arrested individuals. All the suspects remain behind bars, awaiting legal proceedings that will determine their fate, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.
