A pursuit in Rockdale County led to a series of collisions and multiple hospitalizations yesterday. The Georgia State Patrol reported that a trooper attempted to pull over a gold Ford Crown Victoria for tailgating another vehicle on Sigman Road. Instead of complying, the driver, identified as 40-year-old Jamal Green, sped away, prompting a high-speed chase, as 11Alive detailed.
According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the pursuit escalated when Green ignored a red light at the intersection of Sigman Road and Rockbridge Road, colliding with a white F-150 which subsequently rolled over and came to rest on its roof. Green's car then smashed head-on into a gold F-150, according to the state patrol. Following the crash, police said Green engaged in a scuffle with the responding trooper before two bystanders intervened, assisting in the arrest.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the specific charges filed against Green. All individuals involved in the collision were taken to a local hospital, though the extent of their injuries has not been confirmed.
