An incident of family violence led to an arrest earlier this month in Horizon City. According to the Horizon City Police Department, officers responded to a report of physical assault during a domestic dispute on August 3, at approximately 1:22 AM.
The location of the reported family violence incident was the 14000 block of Tobe Davis Dr. During the response, Esteban Ricardo Reyes was named as the suspect. The officers, after speaking with the victim, determined that enough evidence existed to quickly promise to arrest Reyes, charging him with Assault Causing Bodily Injury. Details from the Horizon City Police Department indicated that Reyes was then transported to the El Paso County Detention Facility, where he was held on a $3,000 bond.
Community vigilance played a key role in this case, as the police department acknowledged the importance of timely reporting in the success of their response. "We appreciate the community’s quick reporting, which helped officers respond promptly," as per the Horizon City Police Department. The cooperation between the community and law enforcement is often critical in the immediate intervention in situations of domestic violence.
