Flowing through the fair, the Expo Building, the Hobbies Arts and Crafts Building, and the Coliseum offer comfort aided by fans, presenting an ideal respite from the relentless afternoon sun. In a statement obtained by the Illinois government's news release, an additional cooling tent with air conditioning has been positioned behind the Coors tent off Grandstand Avenue, as an overflow oasis in the sea of festivities.
The state fair also caters to hydration with eight complimentary water stations peppered across the venue, encouraging attendees to refill their bottles and cups. Among the chilled refuges are the Governor's Tent, Lt. Governor's Tent, First Lady's Tent, Comptroller's Tent, Attorney General's Tent, Agriculture Tent, Treasurer's Tent, and the Sensory Station.
Medical aid is but a stone's throw away, as the SIU School of Medicine mans a first aid station at the backyard of the Emmerson Building, opposite the Dairy Building. First response teams stand at the ready to extend medical assistance as necessary. And with tonight's Turnpike Troubadours concert at the Grandstand on the horizon, additional water supplies will be arranged on track, and buses will be transformed into momentary cooling stations to comfort concert-goers.
