In a swift response to a fatal incident, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) homicide detectives have arrested 24-year-old Seth McPeak for his alleged involvement in the murder of Robbie Vidito, 56, following a serious collision that occurred yesterday. IMPD News reported that officers were dispatched to the scene at W. Troy Ave and Denison Street at approximately 11:10 a.m., where they discovered the victim with significant injuries and pedestrians trying to revive him through CPR; Vidito was rushed to a local hospital but was regrettably pronounced deceased.
Digging deeper into the case, homicide detectives, with the assistance of the Marion County Coroner’s Office and the Marion County Forensic Services Agency compiled evidence and witness testimony which lead to the identification of McPeak as a suspect; he was located around 6:15 p.m. in the 2800 block of Collier Street with the help of community engagement and a tip that lead the IMPD Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) and Southwest district officers directly to him, resulting in his apprehension on multiple charges including murder, robbery causing serious bodily injury, auto theft, and battery with injury.
Reflecting on the legal proceedings, IMPD emphasized that the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office is responsible for making the final charges, and per the principle of the justice system, despite the arrest, McPeak is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
