An investigation is underway following a fatal crash involving a Metro Bus and two motorcycles in the northbound lanes of Skinker at Enright yesterday at around 11 a.m..
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, preliminary findings indicate the motorcycles were traveling side by side when a southbound Metro Bus made a left turn into their path. One motorcyclist, 31-year-old Alvin Garvin, was taken to the hospital but later died from his injuries. The second motorcyclist, a 19-year-old male, avoided direct impact but was thrown from his motorcycle. He was hospitalized with serious injuries and is currently stable.
The 61-year-old bus driver sustained moderate injuries and is in stable condition. One bus passenger suffered minor injuries and also received hospital care.
Authorities are reviewing video from the Real-Time Crime Center and the bus’s onboard cameras as part of the ongoing investigation. Police have asked anyone with information about the crash to come forward.
