Located a mere two hours away from Jacksonville, the military base was the scene of an active shooter incident leaving the community rattled and five soldiers injured.
In the wake of the tragedy, Sheriff Waters emphasized Jacksonville’s close ties to the military, being home to two Naval bases, and extending thoughts to "our military family as a whole."
