Get your walking shoes ready, St. Louis Park residents, because the Walk the Park event series is continuing its monthly tradition of community strolls. The next opportunity to join your neighbors in some light exercise and fresh air will be on Saturday, Aug. 9, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Participants are invited to congregate at the Creekside Park parking lot, located at 7341 Oxford St., to embark on a 1 – 2-mile jaunt along Creekside Trail.
For those who prefer to not to venture out in inclement weather, there's no need to worry. Should the skies open up or the thermometer drop below 40 degrees, the walk will move indoors. The backup location is the St. Louis Park Middle School, found at 2025 Texas Ave. S., where attendees should meet at the back entrance door 16. This indoor alternative ensures the event goes ahead, rain or shine. According to the city announcement, the walks are designed to encourage locals to explore and appreciate different parts of the trail system on a regular basis.
The city has also released details of the upcoming walk scheduled for Sept. 13. This one will take adventurers through the Bass Lake Preserve/George Haun Trail, offering yet another angle of St. Louis Park’s natural beauty. Like the others, this walk will take place from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, so participants can easily pencil it into their Saturday morning routine.
These walking events reflect a continued community effort to promote health, well-being, and togetherness among the residents of St. Louis Park. The initiative is also an excellent chance for locals to meet new faces or to simply enjoy the trails that they might not frequent as often as they'd like. Remember, the walks are free and accessible to everyone looking to stretch their legs and to casually explore their local environment. For those interested in further details or future dates, they're encouraged to regularly check the Walk the Park event bulletin.
