A Knoxville man has been charged with first-degree murder after a shooting incident yesterday morning that left another man dead, authorities said. Timothy Adam Lee, 46, faces multiple charges, including aggravated domestic assault and interference with emergency communications, following the event at an apartment complex on S. Gallaher View Road.
The Knoxville Police Department reported that officers were dispatched to the Copper Pointe apartments at roughly 9:30 a.m., where they discovered a man critically wounded by gunshot. The victim was rushed to a local hospital, later succumbing to his injuries. The identity of the deceased has not been released as the investigation continues.
Lee was apprehended a short time after the shooting, according to law enforcement. Investigators, utilizing license plate recognition technology, traced a silver F-150 pickup truck described as leaving the scene to Blount County. There, members of the Blount County Sheriff's Office and Maryville Police Department detained Lee while he was exiting a Walmart on US-411.
The suspect is now at the Public Safety Complex, where he is being questioned by detectives from the KPD Homicide Unit. Though Lee has been charged, the investigation into the incident remains active, with further information promised as details come to light, the KPD statement revealed.
