The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has issued an update on the status of the LA 315/Bayou Dularge Bascule Bridge located in Houma. Currently, the bridge remains shut to car traffic, stemming from pressing needs to bolster the structure's mechanical components.
In an effort to address the situation promptly, DOTD has announced plans to quickly finalize the repair designs and has awarded a contract to a repair firm. They assure the public that temporary fixes are expected to be completed by the end of next month, allowing limited vehicle passage during peak traffic periods while full repairs continue.
While the complete timeline for the remaining repairs has not yet been released, DOTD has committed to providing this information after the initial repair phase is finished.
