The splashy addition to Elmer Thomas Park has been a hit with the community, providing a space to chill and slide through the hot months since its opening on August 16. In a statement released by the City of Lawton, officials expressed their gratitude to everyone who made the center's first season a memorable one, celebrating the hundreds of guests who have taken advantage of its amenities, including a lazy river and water slides.

The last chance to make a splash at the Aquatics Center is approaching, with doors set to close on September 26. The City is keen to strictly maintain the established hours of operation up until the very end, which includes staying open on Labor Day, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., giving the community one final holiday hurrah. Yet, Labour Day isn't the only date to note, as the regular hours remain set Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. according to the City of Lawton's announcement.

The Aquatics Center's pricing structure will stay constant through to the season's end. Adults can soak up the fun for $6, while youth (ages 4 to 17) and seniors can dive in for $5. The tiniest tots, those aged 3 and under, have access for just $2. Refreshments won't dry up either; the concession stand will keep serving water, Gatorade, and snacks for purchase through the season's conclusion, as reported by the City of Lawton.

When the currents of visitors ebb, the City staff will soon to begin their review of the season's operations in an effort to plan for enhancements in 2026. Their looking ahead to improvements that can enrich the experience in the years to come demonstrates the City's commitment to recreation and community enjoyment.
