The Lewisburg community reels from a disturbing discovery on Maple Street where a homicide investigation is currently underway, according to the local police department. A social media update provided by the Lewisburg Police Department confirmed that last Saturday, officers responded to an early morning call and found Wendy L. Lucas, 51, deceased with signs of traumatic injury.
Following an intense investigation, which detectives launched immediately upon arriving at the scene, 66-year-old Gary L. McCormick has been arrested and charged with Criminal Homicide for Lucas' death, as stated in the police report, and the suspect is now detained at the Marshall County Jail. McCormick will soon face the Marshall County General Sessions Court on a date yet to be announced by authorities.
