In what the Colma Police Department has branded this week's "Felony Friday," an incident that occurred yesterday has been detailed, where a 36-year-old Los Angeles man found himself in handcuffs and later in a physical confrontation with an officer. According to a social media post by the Colma Police Department, officers responded to a call around 1:15 PM at the Stewart Chevrolet dealership for a welfare check on a man suspected of being under the influence.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the man, later identified as Erdenebat Borgio, lying in the dealership's driveway. The officers at the scene noted a strong odor of alcohol surrounding Borgio and observed signs that he was indeed intoxicated. A records check revealed that Borgio was wanted on multiple warrants, totaling $45,000, for felony and misdemeanor charges.

Borgio was arrested without initial incident for the outstanding warrants and for public intoxication, but the situation escalated once at the San Mateo County Jail. According to the Colma Police, Borgio grew combative and proceeded to headbutt the transporting sergeant twice, leaving visible marks on the officer's chin. Following this altercation, Borgio was handed over to the jail staff.

The charges against him have since been updated to include battery against a police officer. After the dustup, Borgio was booked into the San Mateo County Jail.
