A man was taken into custody after a chase in Wabash County. The incident began shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, when Sergeant Kyle Miller pursued David R. Odham, who was driving a 1996 Ford Ranger, as mentioned by the Indiana State Police-Peru District.
Despite Sergeant Miller’s marked vehicle and flashing lights, Odham did not stop, leading to a multi-mile chase through rural areas of Wabash County. The pursuit went through fields and disregarded traffic signals before Sergeant Miller used a maneuver to stop the Ford, as stated by the Indiana State Police-Peru District.
According to the Indiana State Police-Peru District on their Facebook page, after a vehicle stop, Odham ran from officers but was captured shortly after. Authorities reported finding suspected marijuana in the vehicle. He faces a Level 6 felony charge for resisting law enforcement with a vehicle and misdemeanor charges including aggressive driving and possession of marijuana. Odham remains in custody awaiting court proceedings. “All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.”
