
A stabbing incident outside the Multnomah County Central Library in Southwest Portland on Monday has left one man hospitalized and three individuals arrested on assault charges. The altercation occurred around 5:10 p.m., when the 44-year-old victim, after exiting the library, attempted to intervene in a nearby disturbance. He was consequently attacked and sustained multiple stab wounds, as reported by KGW.
Responding officers located and arrested the three suspects, identified as Ja'Riyah L. Williams, 21, along with 18-year-olds Anthony M. Nicholas and Daviana E. Anderson in the Holladay Park area, north of the library, according to KOIN.
As detailed by KGW, the suspects now face charges for unlawful use of a weapon and third-degree assault, with Nicholas also facing a second-degree assault charge. Detectives from the Police Bureau’s Major Crimes Unit and Forensic Evidence Division are leading the investigation.
