A man was hospitalized following a late-night shooting near Dawson Park in North Portland, with the assailant currently evading capture, authorities reported. The incident unfolded just before 10:20 p.m., leaving the neighborhood grappling with the unsettling reality of gun violence at its doorstep. According to KOIN, police arrived at the scene to discover that the victim had been transported to the hospital by a private vehicle prior to their arrival.
Portland Police Bureau (PPB) informed KATU News that upon responding to the 100 block of North Morris Street, a victim was not found at the location as he had already been taken in a private vehicle. The injured adult male sustained wounds from the shooting but is expected to survive his injuries.
