A violent incident erupted in the College Hill neighborhood of Cincinnati, resulting in a man being hospitalized after a shooting that also led to a car crash. Early yesterday, just before midnight, Cincinnati police were dispatched to the 5800 block of Salvia Avenue near Cedar Avenue, where they found a 23-year-old man who had sustained gunshot wounds while riding inside a vehicle, FOX19 reported.
The victim was shot three times—twice in his right leg and once in his abdomen—before the vehicle crashed into a parked car. "The shooting victim is undergoing treatment at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and is expected to recover," Captain Stephen Bower told FOX19. Additionally, two passengers in the vehicle were also taken to the hospital with injuries from the crash.
Authorities launched a manhunt for the two suspects involved in the shooting, employing a police K-9 unit to track down the individuals, reportedly dressed in dark clothing. Despite the wreckage and flurry of emergency responses, the driver of the car involved was not struck by gunfire. According to a report by LOCAL12, authorities stated that "multiple witnesses" were present during the incident, and a follow-up investigation is underway.
While initial reports from various sources, including WLWT, indicated that the man had been shot four times, it has been clarified that the correct number of gunshot wounds was three. Despite the discrepancy, all reports converge on the victims' expected survival and the ongoing search for the two suspects. The College Hill community, now edging toward recovery after an unsettling midnight violence, awaits answers and calls for justice amidst the echoes of gunshots that disrupted an otherwise still night.
