Time to lace up those sneakers and hit the hardwood, Marietta—youth basketball season is on the horizon. Marietta Parks, Recreation & Facilities has officially opened registrations for its youth basketball program at Custer Park Sports & Fitness Center. This is the shot for the kids, ages 6–15, to get their game on and maybe even develop the next big jump shot.
The fees for this season are set at $100 for Cobb County residents and $135 for non-residents—a small price to pay for a winter's worth of layups and fast breaks. Parents are encouraged to register their children early, as spaces are expected to dribble away quickly. According to the official announcement, the program aims to instill not just the fundamentals of basketball, but also the importance of teamwork and a healthy, active lifestyle.
Practices are scheduled to commence on the week of September 29, followed by the start of games on November 8. With the courts warming up come fall, enthusiastic dribblers, passers, and shooters will gather at the Custer Park Sports & Fitness Center—proudly located at 545 Kenneth E. Marcus Way, Marietta, GA 30060—to begin their potential journey to basketball stardom or simply to enjoy the camaraderie of a team sport.
For those interested in signing up or looking for more information, Marietta Parks' invitation stands open. Connect on their website, stop by in person, or give a call to 770-794-5630, and secure a spot on the roster.
