
A stretch of I-65 saw significant disruption after a multi-vehicle accident led to a vehicle catching fire. The incident, which occurred at the 43 mile marker, prompted an urgent response from Maury County Fire Department units including Engines 21 & 30, and Rescue 21. The situation was quickly brought under control, with fire crews managing to contain the blaze that at one point was spreading through the median.
After the fire was brought under control, a Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) officer on the scene encountered a flat tire. Firefighters from Rescue 21, along with a TDOT worker, assisted in replacing the tire. Their combined efforts ensured the officer could return to duty without further delay.
According to the department's Facebook post, "Units arrived to find a vehicle fully involved and spreading through the median. The fire was quickly contained and luckily only minor injuries were reported." The fire department responded quickly and efficiently to the incident.
