
The Memphis Police Department announced that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the July 25 shooting of a 15-year-old girl on the 2800 block of Letrec Cove. The girl was critically injured after being shot in a home, as stated by the Memphis Police Department.
The Memphis Police Department reported that Lorenzo Davis was at a home with teenagers when a handgun he was handling went off. After the shot was fired, he left the scene with the weapon. Davis has been charged with Aggravated Assault – Reckless, Reckless Endangerment with a Deadly Weapon, Child Abuse and Neglect or Endangerment, Providing Handguns to Juveniles, and Unlawful Carrying or Possession of a Weapon.
Last Wednesday, Lorenzo Davis was arrested at 5320 Knight Arnold Road, according to the Memphis Police Department on their Facebook page. Police said he was already wanted on charges of Evading Arrest, Domestic Assault, Resisting Official Detention, and Interference with Emergency Calls. The department has not provided further updates on the victim’s condition, and the case remains under investigation
