Memphis has witnessed a disturbing surge in crime, with the latest incident occurring on the night of August 14 in the 3400 block of Lamar Avenue. According to the Memphis Police Department, officers arrived on the scene at 11:48 p.m., following a report of a robbery and assault. The victim, who remains unnamed for privacy and safety reasons, was accosted by two suspects—a man and a woman—both believed to be in their mid-30s and described as tall. They assaulted the victim and fled with his wallet, which contained cash and debit cards, in a dark colored sedan, which may be a Chevrolet Malibu.
The suspects are still at large, and law enforcement officials are working tirelessly to track them down; the man was sporting an orange shirt, blue jeans, and gray shoes and was characterized by his low beard and thin build, while the woman, who appeared to be pregnant, was distinguished by a red wig, a purple dress, and white shoes.
Furthermore, officials have described the suspect vehicle as a dark-colored 4-door sedan, with noteworthy features such as tinted windows and black wheels, though the license plate number sadly remains unknown.
