A robbery that occurred in the 5300 block of Meadowlake Drive has been reported, where a victim was assaulted and robbed by a man who initially offered help with her groceries. The Memphis Police Department released details stating that last Friday at around 11:00 a.m., the male suspect took advantage of the victim's trust, subsequently choking her to unconsciousness before fleeing with her credit, debit cards, and personal information.
The suspect is described as a medium-complexion male, thought to be in his early 40s and he had a short twist hairstyle. According to the Memphis Police Department's report, he was last seen wearing a gray hat that featured a brown logo, a blue T-shirt emblazoned with a “Chucky” logo, khaki pants, and white shoes, and with the incident taking place in broad daylight, it has raised concerns amongst the local community.
Authorities are urging anyone who might have relevant information or witnessed the event to come forward. In an effort to apprehend the assailant, police are asking the public to assist by contacting Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
