The Metro Nashville Police Department Criminal Warrants Division has released an updated list of the city's most wanted individuals—a register that underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to curb serious crimes spanning from premeditated murder to sexual assault. The list, made available to the public through a social media post, can be found on their official Facebook page and includes the names and alleged crimes of those most urgently sought after in Nashville as of August 12.
Heading the list is De’tynn Smith, born October 13, 2003, and wanted on multiple charges including murder in the first degree-premeditated, attempted murder, aggravated robbery, and possessing a dangerous weapon during the commission of a felony, these charges reflect the severity of offenses attributed to Smith and the immediate threat they pose to public safety; Nashville Police urge anyone with information to come forward to assist in the apprehension of these fugitives, information can be relayed to the MNPD at 615-862-8600 or reported anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. The initiative aims to engage the community in locating individuals who have been indicted or are sought for serious crimes and ensuring they face judicial proceedings.
Other notables on Nashville's top 10 most wanted include Raceme L. Crutcher, wanted for two counts of first-degree murder, and Devon A. Martak, sought on charges of raping a mentally defective or helpless individual, among other sexual assault indictments; similarly indicted for severe sexual crimes, Jonas D. Cartwright is wanted for the rape of a child and related offenses, while James H. Cox faces charges for the sexual exploitation of a minor. These charges are indicative of the gravity and heinous nature of the acts these suspects are accused of and the potential threat they continue to pose while at large.
The list also features names such as Elijah T. Kodjo and Jatarius M. Marable, each facing charges that include attempted premeditated murder and multiple counts of domestic violence aggravated assault respectively, and not to be overlooked are Roderick V. Majors, Tasha L. Childs, and Jacob Lamb Crow, each wanted on charges ranging from aggravated assault with a deadly weapon to domestic violence and harassment; these individuals, though varying in their accused crimes, collectively represent critical targets for the Nashville police as they work to ensure the safety of the community by bringing these suspects to justice. The frequent publication of most-wanted lists serves as a proactive measure to tap into community resources and insights, enabling citizens to play an active role in the criminal justice system.
While the whereabouts of several individuals on the list are currently unknown, the MNPD has provided last known locations for some, including Madison for Devon A. Martak and James H. Cox, Hermitage for Tasha L. Childs, and Murfreesboro for Jacob Lamb Crow; these details may potentially aid the public in recognizing and reporting sightings, which could facilitate the suspects' capture and removal of dangerous individuals from the streets. The Police Department continues to emphasize the importance of public assistance in these cases while reminding individuals not to approach the suspects directly, as they may be dangerous and are likely to be armed.
