Miami residents are set to face a weekend of sweltering heat, with Friday temperatures prompting a heat advisory. Stay hydrated and look for shade, as the "feels like" range is anticipated to hover between 105 and 110 degrees, reported by NBC Miami. While rain chances are low today, the possibility of precipitation is expected to increase slightly as the week progresses.
The National Weather Service's forecast for the South Florida area echoes this sentiment. According to their latest update, the weekend will witness mostly sunny skies with highs flirting with an 91 degrees mark. The heat index, however, may make it feel significantly hotter, peaking around 105. A calm wind turning southeast could provide a slight respite from an otherwise stagnant air.
As Saturday rolls in, residents can look forward to similar conditions. The southeastern breeze continues, with the mercury set to rise up to 93 degrees. The forecast predicts a 20 percent chance of showers. By Sunday, the National Weather Service warns of a marginally higher likelihood of thunderstorms post 2pm, anticipating with a 30 percent chance of showers. This pattern of sun followed by potential late-afternoon rains is set to persist into the early days of the new week. Meanwhile, nighttime should bring some relief, with lows expected around the 81 degrees.
Looking ahead, the workweek could see an uptick in shower and thunderstorm possibilities, especially by Wednesday. NBC Miami forecasts "rain chances will pick up a little next week," with the temperatures still hovering around the early 90s.
