Mid-Missouri drivers should prepare for significant road work and potential delays beginning Monday next week. Maintenance and construction projects will affect several highways and local roads across the region, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation.

Work will pause for Labor Day weekend, with most routine zones inactive, but long-term closures will remain in place. Regular construction activities will resume on Tuesday morning next week. Projects include pedestrian facility upgrades on Route TT, improvements to the U.S. Route 63 interchange at Route AC, resurfacing of U.S. Route 50 in Gasconade County, and ongoing work on I-70, which may cause intermittent and long-term lane closures through 2027.

Boone County will see closures on Lenoir Street and single-lane restrictions at the Route K and Old Plank Road intersection. In Cole County, traffic will continue in a head-to-head pattern on the U.S. Route 54 bridge until November. Other affected areas include resurfacing, bridge repairs, and culvert replacements in Maries, Miller, Laclede, Camden, Crawford, and Phelps counties.

The Missouri Department of Transportation advises drivers to watch for lane closures, flaggers, detour signs, and temporary traffic signals in work zones.
