Starting September 4, a week prior, nearly 3,000 American flags—each representing a victim—will adorn the Milton High lawn, which will be on display for the public until the day of the ceremony; this tribute invites citizens to photograph, respect, and contemplate the sobering history of the infamous day. "Anyone can attend starting at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 11 – so 24 years to the day since thousands of citizens and first responders tragically and violently lost their lives," as the official Milton city government site documented.
In keeping with tradition, the students and staff of Milton High School will lead the organization of this solemn event, signaling the local community's commitment to never forgetting the events of 9/11. The event is open to the public.
