The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has officially cancelled a Missing Child Alert for 4-year-old Azariah Woodson, as confirmed early this morning. The young child, who had been missing since August 7, was reported safe following an intense period of searching and public concern. The alert was initially issued after midnight today and was cancelled shortly after 5 a.m., according to information provided by the FDLE and reported by WPBF.
During the time of the disappearance, Azariah Woodson was described as a black male, 3 feet 4 inches tall, with black hair, brown eyes, and seen in the area of the 6400th block of 85th Street in Wabasso, Florida. Notably, he is recognized by a gap in his upper front teeth—an aspect that was shared by one of the individuals he may have been in the company of, Thomeisha Woodson-El, alongside another individual, Nathaniel Lee. Details of their descriptions were disseminated widely in an effort to locate Azariah. The FDLE had been urging the public to provide any information regarding their whereabouts, as highlighted by an alert posted on Facebook.
The circumstances leading up to the child’s disappearance and the subsequent search were the subject of an intense investigation by authorities. While the specifics of the investigation remain unclear, it was reported that the case warranted an upgrade to a Missing Child Alert due to the ongoing nature of the situation. The Indian River County Sheriff's Office had not only leaned on the community for assistance but also availed their contact for any potential leads at 772-978-6240 or prompted locals to dial 911 in case of immediate information.
