A fatal incident occurred on I-40 East near Knoxville, leaving one motorcyclist dead this past Friday night. The Knoxville Police Department reported that their officers responded to the crash near mile marker 385, where they discovered a devastating scene.
According to the Knoxville Police Department, the motorcycle was en route on the eastbound lanes, where I-40 intersects with I-640, before it fatally collided with a rail. Driving for reasons still under scrutiny, the motorcycle veered off the roadway. The female driver was thrown from her bike upon impact and succumbed to her injuries right there on the pavement.
The Knoxville Police Department's crash reconstruction investigators are leading the inquiry into the incident. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of family.
