Early Saturday morning, a collision involving multiple vehicles resulted in the temporary closure of all northbound lanes on the Kennedy Expressway near Fullerton Avenue. The incident, which occurred shortly after 7:30 a.m., forced at least one person to be taken quickly to the hospital, though details regarding the severity of the injuries remain unreported, as per WGN-TV.
As stated by ISP, the expressway was cleared and lanes were fully reopened by 9:10 a.m., easing the traffic that had accumulated due to the crash. WGN-TV reported. The specifics of what led to the incident are still under investigation.
In the meantime, ongoing construction work in the area continues to impact traffic flow. Notably, the outbound reversible lanes are currently operating in an outbound-only configuration, and lane reductions persist between Division Street and Pulaski Road. Furthermore, the Fullerton Avenue ramp to the outbound Kennedy and the slip ramp to Western Avenue remain closed due to scheduled construction work, as shared by ABC7 Chicago.
