A traffic stop in Barren County escalated when a man allegedly threatened an officer and was found to have illegal substances. On Wednesday, Glasgow Police Department's Officer Micah Janes pulled over Michael House, 45, of Munfordville, on East Cherry Street due to House driving on a suspended license. Major Terry Flatt from Glasgow Police explained that during the stop, House resisted arrest, spat on an officer, and threatened violence, as reported by WBKO.

Search of House's person revealed a loaded syringe, methamphetamine found in his pants pocket, according to a WKRN report. The confrontation led to House's arrest, and he now faces multiple charges, including first-degree possession of a controlled substance, terroristic threatening, and wanton endangerment of a police officer. Furthermore, a barrage of traffic-related offenses accompanied the more severe allegations, like failing to signal properly, and a lack of insurance documentation was also noted among the crimes.

Despite these compounding charges, it was the threat to "kill you" made against an officer and the act of spitting that added gravity to the incident. "House resisted arrest, spitting on one officer and making threats to 'kill you,'” the Glasgow Police Department specified through a press release available to WCLU Radio. House, while lodged at the Barren County Detention Center, is being held on a $25,000 cash bond.

According to the Barren County Detention Center, House is scheduled to appear before District Court Judge Gabe Pendleton for a preliminary hearing on August 4, at 12:30 p.m.
