Nashville residents may want to keep an umbrella within arm's reach as they go about their week. According to NWS Nashville, there's a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms cropping up, with odds increasing slightly in the mid-week. Temperatures are not shy, climbing up into the mid-90s.
The weather outlook, though flirting with precipitation, mostly favors sun-seekers with "mostly sunny" conditions projected for the majority of the week. The NWS Nashville details a forecast that, despite a "40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 1pm and 4pm" on Wednesday, will give way to clearer skies towards the weekend. The humidity, sitting at a sticky 74%, contributes to heat index values that could reach up to a stifling 105 degrees.
A break in the high humidity is anticipated as the report suggests a drop in overnight temperatures to a more comfortable mid to low 60s heading into next week. This comes after a string of nights where the mercury won't dip below the 70-degree mark.
During the day, Nashville will bask in "mostly sunny" conditions with daily highs comfortably settled in the 80s and low 90s. The city's residents can look forward to an uninterrupted stretch of sunshine, particularly on Friday and Saturday, where there will be a high near 95 and mostly clear skies at night. A gentle north northeast wind may provide some relief, especially in the late evenings and nighttime.
