Wesley Hernandez, a 46-year-old Nashville man, has been apprehended by authorities in Lebanon on a slew of rape charges, according to reports. Hernandez, who was already under investigation for a disturbing incident from 2022 involving a teenage girl, now faces charges, including two counts of rape, three counts of statutory aggravated rape, two counts of aggravated rape with a weapon, and one count of continuous sexual abuse, as detailed by FOX17.
These charges stem from an ordeal that began in 2020, when Hernandez allegedly first met the teenage victim and commenced what would become a persistent and violating harassment. Last year, Hernandez attempted to manipulate the father of the teenage victim, trying to persuade him to sign over custody, a fact noted in court records, as WSMV reported. The victim and her family expressed their fears to law enforcement that Hernandez might escalate his behavior to lethal means.
The arrest occurred without incident on a Monday night after a traffic stop in Lebanon. It brought a temporary conclusion to an active search for Hernandez who was wanted on the aforementioned charges out of Nashville. Lebanon Police Department cooperated with officials from the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) to secure Hernandez's detention, as per WKRN's coverage.
