Twenty-year-old Chris Winters Jr. was arrested last Thursday on multiple charges, including felony drug possession, after TITANS Unit detectives located over two pounds of marijuana in his vehicle. According to a report by Nashville.gov, authorities had been surveilling Winters for suspected drug transactions in North Nashville before apprehending him when he parked on Avondale Circle.
The suspect, who already had seven warrants pending from a previous incident in December 2024, was found with 2.42 pounds of marijuana divided into six bags. A digital scale was also discovered in the Hyundai Tucson he was operating. In a narrative that stretches back to last December, Winters managed to elude officers after a traffic stop on Green Street, raising the specter of evasion, it was during this earlier confrontation that they inquired about the presence of marijuana in his gray Infiniti, the vehicle, later found abandoned on Lewis Street, contained a small amount of marijuana and tools typically used in burglaries.
Winters' ongoing collision with law enforcement culminated in his Thursday arrest, where he was booked not only on the aforementioned warrants but also for new allegations stemming from his possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. The weight of these charges pressed him into the stony confines of a jail cell, his bond set at $36,000.
Authorities said Winters fled from officers before being taken into custody in connection with illegal drug activity in Nashville neighborhoods. He is currently being held, and the arrest adds to ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address unlawful substances in the community.
