
Yesterday, Bell Road bore witness to a devastating scene when a Maserati SQ4 swerved into oncoming traffic and struck a Nissan Rogue head-on, resulting in one fatality and several severe injuries. The passenger of the Nissan, a 37-year-old woman whose identity is withheld pending family notification, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, as reported by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.
According to the Metro police, the tragic incident occurred at 3:25 a.m. at the intersection of Bell Road and Harris Hills Lane; the preliminary investigation suggests that Julio Ceasar Herrera Gonzalez, the 36-year-old driver of the Maserati, veered into the eastbound lane, colliding with the Nissan, which was traveling eastbound, resulting in catastrophic consequences for all involved. Both drivers were promptly transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where the Nissan's driver is currently battling life-threatening injuries, while Gonzalez suffered minor injuries but is expected to face several charges upon discharge.
It has been revealed that the driver of the Maserati, Gonzalez, displayed signs of impairment while at the hospital and, according to officials, will be charged with vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, DUI, and driving without a license.
