Two teenagers have been charged in connection with a drive-by shooting that occurred last October on Maple Timber Court, resulting in the injury of a 16-year-old boy. Nashville authorities have arrested both suspects, with a 17-year-old taken into custody at his Antioch home by TITANS Unit detectives and a 16-year-old earlier this month.
The younger suspect, during the arrest at his residence, detectives recovered gun parts, body armor, ammunition, a rifle, and marijuana. Admittedly, both teenagers have been involved in several other shooting incidents throughout 2024, as a statement by the Nashville Police Department detailed.
Investigations revealed by the Non-Lethal Shooting Unit indicate that the victim was shot in the back during a drive-by shooting while sitting in a vehicle alongside others. Despite the severity of the incident, the victim’s injuries were non-life-threatening, and he was promptly treated at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
As per the investigation’s findings, each of the teen suspects now faces multiple charges in Juvenile Court, including attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and reckless endangerment, with juvenile handgun possession among them, according to the official press release from the Nashville Police Department. While sitting behind bars, they face additional charges pending for other shootings confessed by the teenagers.
