Downtown Medford is set to welcome a new hospitality establishment in the coming years—a four-story hotel with the promise of contemporary comforts and amenities. The Element by Westin hotel, which is part of Marriott International Inc., will be developed by Western Hospitality, LLC, a company with a 25-year history that began in Grand Junction, Colorado. Since its inception, the company has expanded its reach, exploring the Rogue Valley for additional opportunities in the hotel and restaurant sectors.
Slated for construction on an approximate 2.77-acre site at 310 N. Bartlett Street, the location sits comfortably between East Third Street and East Fourth Street, and North Bartlett Street and Apple Street, and yes you guessed it, currently it serves the straightforward purpose of a parking lot. In keeping with the developmental ethos of the city, the new lodging is positioned just north of Pear Blossom Park, an area known for its community events and urban green space. As reported by the official City of Medford website, the Site Plan and Architectural Commission approved the final order for construction early in May.
Future guests of the Element by Westin can look forward to a selection of 134 rooms to choose from. In addition, a range of facilities will be available at their convenience including an outdoor patio, a pool and spa area, sizeable meeting room, dining and lounge areas, and a fitness room for the health-conscious travelers. These planned amenities are indicative of the hotel's potential to enhance the hospitality landscape of downtown Medford and provide both leisure and business guests with quality accommodations.
Come late August, the wheels of progress will begin to turn as work on the new hotel is scheduled to start. A prospective completion window has been earmarked for the spring or summer of 2027, suggesting a timeline that both developers and city residents alike, anticipate will lead to economic invigoration and the enrichment of the Medford cityscape.
