
The New Orleans Police Department is on the lookout for a person of interest in connection to a homicide that took place earlier this month. The individual is sought for questioning regarding an incident on August 14, where a man was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds, at the intersection of Frenchmen and Decatur streets, as reported by the New Orleans Police Department.
Officers were called to the scene at approximately 3:10 a.m., where the victim, an unidentified male, was found unresponsive. He was subsequently declared deceased by the New Orleans EMS, according to the New Orleans Police Department news release. As part of the investigation, detectives have released an image of the person of interest, whom they believe may have crucial information pertaining to the case.
This potential witness is not currently facing any criminal charges, however, New Orleans Police Department detectives are eager to interview him. The New Orleans Police Department Homicide Section, led by Detective Maurice Stewart, is handling the ongoing investigation and is appealing to the public for assistance.
