
The New Orleans Police Department has issued a public call for assistance in tracking down a suspect linked to an auto theft and simple criminal damage to property. The man identified by NOPD is Schieye Ratcliff, whose description has been circulated with the intention to swiftly bring him into custody based on active warrants for his arrest.
Details shared by the NOPD, as reported on their news site, specify that Ratcliff, a Black male born on November 5, 2005, around 5' 9" inches in height and weighing about 120 pounds, is alleged to have illegally taken possession of a vehicle. The said incident is to have unfolded early in the morning at 6:30 a.m. on February 26, when Ratcliff is accused to have stolen a 2013 Hyundai Sonata parked along the 4600 block of Cardenas Drive.
The police have made Ratcliff's image available to the public in hopes that citizens can aid in his apprehension. They have yet to disclose the specifics of how Ratcliff came to be a suspect in this case or what evidence ties him directly to the crime. The NOPD has encouraged anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward and contribute to the ongoing investigation.
