Beginning next Monday, and continuing through Thursday, August 14, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., traffic will be rerouted due to the removal of the westbound Route 14 outside bridge wall. MoDOT has announced that this work will necessitate the complete closure of U.S. Route 65 in both directions at the Missouri Route 14 (Jackson Street) bridge.
Motorists traveling along Route 65 will be directed to utilize the adjacent on-off ramps at Route 14 before rejoining the highway. The westbound Route 14 bridge's right lane over U.S. Route 65 will also be closed, although the left lane and turn lane will remain open to traffic. Meanwhile, closures will also affect the eastbound lanes of the Missouri Route 14 bridge during the project's nighttime hours. No signed detours are in the plans, but those accustomed to traveling through this stretch should consider alternate routes to avoid potential delays.
