The Town of Nolensville Engineering Department has initiated its annual stormwater inspections, a measure taken to safeguard the local waterways, particularly Mill Creek and its tributaries. The town announced via social media, informing residents that their engineers will be performing visual assessments of stormwater outfall structures over the next few weeks. The Town of Nolensville shared that these inspections are crucial to "identify signs of pollution, erosion, or other issues" that could adversely affect the water quality.
These annual inspections comply with the town's MS4 Permit requirements. Identifying potential problem areas before they escalate into larger issues is vital for maintaining the natural ecosystem surrounding the community's water sources. "By completing these yearly inspections, we’re helping to protect and preserve our community’s waterways, so they remain clean and beautiful for years to come," read the post from the Town of Nolensville. The inspection findings will contribute to the town’s annual report, which will be presented to the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation.
