
The New York City Police Department has issued a call for public assistance in their hunt for suspects involved in a spree of robberies across various precincts in the Bronx and Manhattan. According to NYPD Crimestoppers' social media post, between July 8 and August 2, an alarming 15 incidents have been reported where multiple unidentified individuals targeted victims for their jewelry, cellphones, and money using the threat of violence.
Details provided by the NYPD describe the individuals as approaching their victims, displaying or simulating a firearm, and then forcibly removing property. Following the theft, these suspects would make their escape in a vehicle. It has been noted in the announcements, several victims were left with minor injuries in the wake of these confrontations. The NYPD is urging anyone with information that could lead to an arrest to send a direct message to @nypdtips or call 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
These robberies have occurred within the confines of 26, 34, 43, 46, 50, and 52 Precincts, indicating a wide net of criminal activity stretching across several neighborhoods.
