House Democratic Leader Cyndi Munson issued a statement following the passing of Pat Potts, co-founder of the Potts Family Foundation. In her message, Munson said, “My heart is with the Potts family at this time as well as everyone who knew and loved Pat Potts,” according to the Oklahoma House.
Cyndi Munson, who knew Pat Potts both personally and as a constituent, acknowledged Potts’s long-standing contributions to improving opportunities for youth in Oklahoma. Potts spent decades advocating for children and families across the state. In a statement shared by the Oklahoma House, Munson noted, “Pat made it her life’s work to invest in our youth and give them the best opportunities to succeed.”
Pat Potts, beyond her work with the Potts Family Foundation, was also active in Oklahoma's political sphere. She previously ran for seats in both the Oklahoma House of Representatives and the Oklahoma Senate. Her involvement in politics influenced women entering public service, including Cyndi Munson. “She was incredibly supportive of my own run for office, encouraging me to make my voice heard as a young woman in politics,” Munson remarked, as quoted by the Oklahoma House.
Remembering Pat Potts involves reflecting on her long-term dedication to Oklahoma through her work and involvement with the Potts Family Foundation. Munson noted that Potts made significant contributions that have been recognized by many in the state. As her chapter concludes, Munson and the state acknowledge Potts’s legacy and its ongoing influence on Oklahoma and its residents.
