The search for London Kerr, a 5-year-old girl missing since April 2022, has now become the primary focus of the Oklahoma City Police Department. According to KOCO 5, the child was last seen at an undisclosed apartment complex in southeast Oklahoma City. The Oklahoma City Police, taking over from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI), have been prompted into action after the arrests of the child's caregivers, who are also linked to allegations of severe child abuse.
As reported by KOCO 5, the two individuals in custody, Ashley Rowland, 39, and Joshua Denton, 40, face charges related to child physical and sexual abuse. With the Moore Police Department having exhausted all leads after the child went missing, it was necessary for involvement at a city level by handing the case over to OSBI last year, and now to the Oklahoma City Police. Before being reported missing, the child's mother is alleged to have given her away during a drug exchange with a man referred to as "Carlos", in exchange for methamphetamine, though police did not mention "Carlos" in their recent update.
Officials have communicated an "extreme concern" for Kerr's safety through various departmental press releases, as mentioned on News9. This case has garnered attention due to the nature of the allegations against the primary caregivers and the length of time Kerr has been missing.
In their ongoing efforts to locate London Kerr, the Oklahoma City Police are calling upon the public for assistance. As detailed in a statement from OKC FOX, "Investigators are hoping someone will come forward with information about the child's whereabouts."
