Oklahoma lawmakers and industry aficionados convened at the state Capitol as the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Multistate Collaborative orchestrated a national forum, according to a report from the Oklahoma House of Representatives, discussing the ascent of electric aircraft, vertical takeoff systems, and Small Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (sUAS).
House Appropriations and Budget Subcommittee on Transportation chair Rep. Nicole Miller, R-Edmond, spotlighted her state's steadfast aerospace legacy and its current trajectory toward the future, "From workforce development to regulatory modernization, our state is making strategic investments to lead the next chapter in aerospace," she asserted in a statement; her words served to inspire and affirm the gathering's commitment to ensure Oklahoma remains at the forefront of the aviation evolution, as stated by the Oklahoma House of Representatives.
Touching on the technology's ripple effect, Rep. Ellyn Hefner, D-Oklahoma City, highlighted the broader implications of AAM, "It's exciting to be a part of the second largest industry in Oklahoma and learn how this can help other areas like health care and people in Oklahoma who have a disability," she told the Oklahoma House of Representatives, underscoring a perspective of inclusivity and statewide benefit.
