An arrest at Vacaville's premium outlets has come to light after a community member alerted police to a suspicious situation last Tuesday. The Vacaville Police Department posted on their Facebook page that a woman, identified as Amanda Schauffler, was found by paramedics and officers in her vehicle, allegedly in possession of fentanyl.

According to the post, Schauffler, a 40-year-old from Eagle Point, Oregon, was discovered slumped over her steering wheel with the engine running for several hours, apparently asleep. Upon making contact, Schauffler could not produce any form of identification, and officers reportedly spotted what they suspected to be fentanyl, alongside paraphernalia, within clear view inside her car.

Following commands from the officers, Schauffler and her small dog, which was accompanying her at the time, were safely removed from the vehicle. The subsequent search of the Subaru purportedly revealed "a significant amount of fentanyl and indicators it was being possessed and transported for sales," as stated by the police department's social media update.

While the Solano County Humane Animal Services took custody of the dog, ensuring its welfare, Schauffler's car earned a trip to what the department called "car jail." Schauffler faced a harsher reality as she was booked into the Solano County Jail. There, she faces felony charges related to the alleged possession and transportation of narcotics with intent to sell.
