A tragic incident occurred yesterday morning on State Road 50 in Orange County, resulting in the death of a pedestrian. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the accident took place around 9 a.m., just east of Saint Nicholas Avenue. A 25-year-old man from Orlando was crossing the road, not within the confines of a marked crosswalk, when he was hit by a vehicle.
According to ClickOrlando, the vehicle involved was a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The driver, a 34-year-old woman from Orlando, was performing a U-turn and began traveling westbound, ultimately colliding with the pedestrian. The man walked into the path of the oncoming Jeep, which led to the collision, per statements from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The victim was swiftly transported to AdventHealth East Orlando, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead, as detailed by WESH. The driver of the Jeep remained at the scene of the accident and was reported not to have sustained any injuries.
