
Authorities in Park Ridge are on the hunt for two suspects involved in a robbery at a local 7-Eleven gas station. According to ABC7 Chicago, the incident occurred Tuesday evening, when the suspects, donning attire traditionally associated with women, committed the robbery at the establishment located at 814 Higgins Road.
The suspects reportedly made their entry around 8:02 p.m., proceeded to walk behind the counter and used a chemical spray, believed to be mace, to incapacitate the clerk. They were able to quickly abscond with several cartons of cigarettes and bottles of liquor. Despite their rapid departure, they were observed heading south along Cumberland Avenue. In an unfortunate turn, the store clerk required hospitalization but is expected to recover.
Further details on the suspects provided by FOX 32 Chicago describe them as two Black males. One sported a black shirt paired with grey pants, while the other donned a tan shirt with black pants, both having bandanas on their heads.
Park Ridge police are now in the process of meticulously reviewing surveillance footage from the store's cameras in hopes of identifying the culprits.
