A night traffic collision in Morgan Hill has resulted in the death of a pedestrian, an event that underscores the inherent dangers present on our roadways, even in our smaller communities. The incident occurred near the crossroads of Cochrane Road and Madrone Parkway, where Morgan Hill Police officers and emergency services were dispatched after reports of a vehicle colliding with a pedestrian at approximately 10:23 PM.
Upon their arrival, first responders found an adult male pedestrian who had been struck, and despite the immediate life-saving efforts that were made, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The adult male pedestrian could not overcome the injuries sustained. According to a social media post by the Morgan Hill Police Department, the driver involved in the collision stayed on site and cooperated with the ongoing investigation. Currently, neither alcohol nor drugs appears to be a contributing factor to the fatal outcome.
