The San José Police Department is currently investigating a fatal traffic collision that claimed the life of a pedestrian yesterday. According to SJPD's official release, a white 2022 Chevy truck collided with an adult male at the intersection of South King Road and Aldrich Way at around 10:13 PM. The pedestrian, who was reportedly crossing the road outside a marked crosswalk, was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where he later died due to his injuries.
The collision marks a grim milestone for the city of San José, being the 21st traffic-related fatality and the 11th involving a pedestrian in the year 2025. The driver of the Chevy truck stayed at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement officials. An initial assessment suggested that neither alcohol nor drugs was a contributing factor in the incident.
