Securing 834.5 acres of land from the Arizona State Trust Land on Wednesday, the council has now approved agreements to foster the growth of the city through strategic investment, including a partnership with semiconductor company, Amkor Technology. According to an article on Peoria's official website, Mayor Jason Beck expressed the city's pivotal moment, "By securing this land and adopting these agreements, we are paving the way for our partnership with Amkor, which represents a $2 billion investment in our city that will create 2,000 high-quality jobs."
The details surrounding the agreement indicate that Amkor's relocation from FIVE NORTH at VISTANCIA to a 104-acre site in Core 2 of the PIC is primarily driven by increasing market demands and the need for an expanded project scope.
